No, this SKU is the stock assembly only. It's designed to slide onto a mil-spec carbine receiver extension you already have. If you need the tube, spring, buffer, and end plate, BCM offers a separate full kit under a different part number.
It fits any standard AR-15 mil-spec receiver extension, which is what the vast majority of carbine-length AR builds use. It will not fit commercial-spec tubes, so double-check what's on your rifle before ordering. Most owners note it goes on snug with no wobble on the buffer tube.
The SOPMOD version is a widebody design, meaning it has more material around the cheek area for a fuller, more pronounced cheek weld. The standard Mod 0 is slimmer and lighter. If you want a more consistent face-to-stock contact point, the SOPMOD is the one to reach for.
VBOST stands for Vehicle Borne Operations Sling Tab. You wrap a ranger band or bungee around it to hold your sling tight against the stock when the rifle is slung or stowed. It's especially handy when you're getting in and out of a vehicle and don't want a loose sling catching on things.
