Bravo Company took what everybody already knows about the classic M4 stock and reworked it into something that feels right the second you shoulder it. The Mod 2 SOPMOD carries a patented semi-clubfoot profile (US Patent D901616) that trims away the sharp edges and hard corners, so it rides smooth through slings, gear, and PPE without catching on anything. That reshaped underside really shines when you drop into prone, giving you a cleaner, more natural cheek weld and a stable shoulder pocket.
This is a widebody one-piece design, and it fits Mil-Spec carbine receiver extensions while being tuned for intermediate-length tubes like the BCM MK2, VLTOR A5, and AR10 setups. The internal latch system and the ambidextrous rotation-limited QD interface carry over from BCM's proven lineup, so your sling swivel sits where you want it instead of flopping around. Folks who run these consistently point out how solid the lockup is, with next to no rattle or play against the buffer tube.
The removable buttpad is the sleeper feature here. Pop it off and flip between a rubberized surface that grips your shoulder for traditional shouldering and recoil control, or a diamond-textured non-slip pad better suited to high-ready manipulation and dynamic work. On the sling side, you get the ambidextrous QD socket, two web sling slots, and the improved VBOST (Vehicle Borne Operations Sling Tab). The VBOST lets you tuck a bungee or retention band to keep an S-folded sling pinned tight against the stock, which comes in handy for vehicle work or keeping things low-vis.
BCM has earned its name on tight tolerances and quality control, and the Mod 2 is a straight extension of that reputation. It's American-made polymer that keeps the weight sensible while standing up to real-world abuse. If you're building out a carbine or upgrading a tired baseline stock, this one earns its spot.
No, this listing is the stock only. It slides onto a Mil-Spec carbine receiver extension you already have and works great with intermediate-length tubes like the BCM MK2 or VLTOR A5. If you need the full setup, BCM also sells a complete stock kit with the receiver extension, spring, buffer, and hardware.
Yes. It's built to fit Mil-Spec diameter carbine receiver extensions, and users often note it seats extremely tight with almost no wiggle. It's also optimized for intermediate-length tubes such as the MK2, A5, and AR10 platforms if you're running one of those.
The modular buttpad pops off and lets you pick your surface. There's a rubberized pad that grips your shoulder for standard shouldering and recoil control, plus a diamond-textured non-slip option that's better for high-ready and faster weapon manipulation. Swapping between them is quick and lets you set the stock up for how you actually run your rifle.
VBOST stands for Vehicle Borne Operations Sling Tab. It gives you multiple retention points to run a bungee or band that keeps an S-folded sling pinned tight against the stock. That's handy for vehicle work or keeping a low profile when the sling isn't in use.
