The .450 Bushmaster was built to hit hard at woods range, and Barnes leaned into that idea with this Harvest Collection load. Rather than reaching for their own solid copper bullet, Barnes teamed up with Sierra to load a 260 grain Pro-Hunter flat nose bullet into this cartridge, giving hunters a proven cup and core option built specifically around the big .4515 inch bore diameter this round demands.
Sierra designed this particular 260 grain FN bullet from the ground up for the .450 Bushmaster rather than just scaling up an existing design. The flat nose profile is meant to dump energy fast on tough game like hogs and black bear, while still expanding reliably on smaller targets like coyotes or whitetail deer. With a sectional density of .182 and a G1 ballistic coefficient of .164, it's built for penetration first and flat trajectory second, which lines up with how most people actually hunt this cartridge inside 150 yards.
Factory specs put this load right around 2165 fps at the muzzle, putting it in line with most other 260 grain .450 Bushmaster offerings and giving plenty of energy to work with at typical hunting distances. The brass cases are reloadable if you like to work up your own loads down the road, and the flat nose bullet profile feeds smoothly through both AR-pattern uppers and bolt guns without the occasional hiccups some polymer tip bullets show in box magazines.

VOR-TX loads use Barnes own solid copper TSX bullet, which is built for deep penetration and near complete weight retention. The Harvest Collection instead uses a Sierra cup and core Pro-Hunter bullet, which trades some penetration for faster expansion and a bit less cost per round.
This load runs around 2165 fps out of the muzzle, which is right in line with typical 260 grain .450 Bushmaster ammunition. Like most loads in this caliber, it's best suited for shots inside 200 to 250 yards where it still carries plenty of energy.
Yes, the cases are brass and boxer primed, so they're set up for standard reloading once fired. Just inspect cases for the usual signs of wear before reloading, same as you would with any once-fired brass.
