Not much, which is the beauty of the caliber. The .300 AAC Blackout uses standard AR-15 magazines, bolt, and bolt carrier group, so the barrel is the only component that has to change from a 5.56 build. Just make sure any ammo you load is clearly marked to avoid mixing it up with 5.56.
The QPQ finish, also known as Melonite or Nitride, is a nitrocarburizing process that hardens the surface of the steel for excellent corrosion and wear resistance. Unlike chrome lining, it converts the surface rather than building up on top of it, so bore dimensions stay consistent.
