Description
Anyone who's built an AR knows the pivot pin install is the part that turns a good day at the bench into a treasure hunt for a launched detent spring. Battle Arms Development tackled that headache head-on with the Enhanced Pin Set, a steel upgrade over the standard mil-spec pins that focuses on real-world handling instead of just looking cool. The set consists of the Enhanced Take-down Pin (BAD-ETP) and Enhanced Pivot Pin (BAD-EPP), both precision Swiss CNC machined from round stock steel bars, case hardened, and finished in mil-spec black manganese phosphate. It fits all AR15, M16, and M4 lowers running standard .250 inch diameter pin holes.
What Sets the BAD-EPS Apart from Mil-Spec Pins
The patent-pending head design is the star here. Instead of using oversized heads to get a better grip, BAD went with low-profile heads that carry a cone-shaped recess for your fingertip or a bullet tip. That means solid pull strength for tool-free takedown without anything snagging on your gear or sitting proud of the receiver. The takedown pin head is also shaped so it won't obstruct a right-side ambidextrous safety lever, which matters if you're running ambi controls.
Extended Tips and Magnet-Assisted Install
The pin tips run about 0.030 inches longer than mil-spec, and that little bit of extra length makes a noticeable difference when you're starting or pushing pins out from the left side of the receiver, without the pins protruding too far. The bullet tip guide, that cone recess at both tips, keeps a bullet or punch from slipping and scratching up your receiver. The real crowd-pleaser is the patent-pending EZ Guide Channel and magnetic assist install. The included neodymium magnet holds everything in place during the pivot pin install, so no more detents and springs flying across the room.
Built and Backed in the USA
Battle Arms has been engineering AR small parts since 2009, and this kit reflects that experience. It's proudly designed and manufactured in the USA, and it drops right into a standard lower without any modification. If you want a takedown and pivot pin setup that makes maintenance faster and less frustrating, this is a straightforward, well-made swap.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the BAD Enhanced Pin Set fit my AR-15 lower?
Yes, it fits all AR15, M16, and M4 lower receivers with standard mil-spec .250 inch diameter front pivot and rear takedown pin holes. It drops in without any modification to the receiver. Note that the Enhanced Pivot Pin is not compatible with the BAD AX556 receiver due to that receiver's proprietary design.
How does the magnet in the BAD-EPS help with installation?
The included high-strength neodymium magnet works with the patent-pending EZ Guide Channel to hold the detent and spring in place while you seat the Enhanced Pivot Pin. It takes the frustration out of one of the trickiest parts of an AR build, so you're not chasing launched springs across the room. It's meant for the pivot pin install specifically.
Are these pins compatible with an ambidextrous safety selector?
Yes. The Enhanced Take-down Pin head is shaped so it does not obstruct the use of a right-side ambidextrous safety selector lever. That makes this set a solid pairing if you're already running ambi controls on your lower.
What makes the Enhanced Pin Set better than standard mil-spec pins?
The heads use a patent-pending low-profile design with a cone-shaped recess that improves grip and pull strength without going oversized, so nothing snags on your gear. The tips run about 0.030 inches longer than mil-spec, which makes starting and pushing the pins out from the left side much easier. They're precision Swiss CNC machined, case hardened steel, so they hold up to repeated field stripping.
