The Arisaka Defense 300 Series Light Body is a slimmed down replacement shell for SureFire Scout Light M300 weapon lights. It strips away the integrated Picatinny clamp found on the stock body, which opens up a surprising amount of front sight clearance when you run it with an Arisaka Inline Scout Mount on handguards that have 45 degree surfaces next to the top rail. The result is a light that tucks in close and low, out of the way of your sights and your support hand.
Even with the clamp gone, this body keeps the mounting holes and square lug interface on the underside, so it drops right into just about any aftermarket Scout mount you already own. It accepts standard Scout Light M300 series tailcaps and heads like the KM1E, KE1A, and KX1A, and IR heads are fully supported for anyone running night vision. That flexibility is the whole point here. You're not locked into one ecosystem, so you can mix SureFire, Malkoff, or Modlite parts to build the setup you actually want.
The body is CNC machined from 6061-T651 aluminum and finished with a MIL-A-8625 Type III hard coat anodizing in black. Threads and the interior get a chem film conversion coating for solid electrical conductivity and corrosion protection, and quality Buna-N O-rings come in the box. At right around half an ounce, it's one of the lightest Scout pattern bodies out there, which folks who've run it notice right away in the handling.
Since this is the body only, you'll add a head and tailcap to finish the build. A popular match is the Malkoff E1HTv2, which pushes a clean beam with a good mix of throw and spill in a compact package. Grab a Scout pattern tailcap and a mount, and you've got a tidy, purpose built light.
