The Archangel Sparta takes the classic Ruger Mini-14 Ranch, Mini Thirty Ranch, and 6.8 Ranch platform and drops it into a fully adjustable, pistol-grip chassis. Made in the USA from a high-strength blend of carbon fiber and glass-reinforced polymer, this stock is built to shrug off the solvents and lubricants that come with regular cleaning. The result is a Mini that feels more like a modern fighting rifle and a whole lot less like grandpa's ranch gun, without giving up the reliability the Mini series is known for.
Fit is where this thing earns its keep. The buttstock collapses through four positions so you can set length of pull for a heavy jacket or a summer t-shirt, and the seven-position adjustable cheek riser lets you line your eye up right behind whatever optic you're running. Between the two adjustments, taller and shorter people can both get comfortable behind the same rifle, which is a real advantage if the gun gets passed around the family or the range.
Up top you get a full-length aluminum rail cut to M1913 Picatinny specs, giving you plenty of real estate for red dots, magnified glass, or iron sights. The rail height is set to work on the same plane as AR-15 flip-up sights, so co-witnessing your favorite backup irons is straightforward. Four steel QD hard points are molded in for push-button quick-detach sling swivels, letting you rig up a single-point, two-point, or side-mounted sling however you carry.
The ergonomic, textured pistol grip includes a locking storage compartment for a spare battery, small tools, or a bore snake, and a removable recoil pad rounds out the buttstock. A spring-loaded filler takes up the gap between the trigger guard and the grip for a clean, finished feel. Just note this one is built for the Ranch Rifle version of the Mini with the angled ejection, which covers most Minis made from the mid-1990s on.
