Description
The ProMag Archangel AAP1022OD takes a plain-jane Ruger 10/22 and turns it into a rig that fits you instead of the other way around. Molded from a carbon fiber and glass-reinforced technopolymer, it carries some real heft, but that weight settles the rifle down nicely on bags and bipods. The olive drab finish looks right at home whether you are ringing steel at the range or plinking out back.
What the Archangel AAP1022OD Lets You Adjust
This is where the stock earns its keep. The click-adjustable cheek riser gives you 1.625 inches of travel across 25 positions, so you can drop it low enough to run the factory iron sights or crank it up high for a big-objective scope. Length of pull moves through 25 positions between 13 and 14.25 inches, which means it fits a tall adult and a younger shooter equally well. No tools needed to make these changes, so you can fine-tune your fit right at the bench.
Built-In Features on the AAP1022OD Stock
The forend has an integrated 6 o'clock Picatinny rail with a sliding full-length cover for mounting a bipod, light, or laser. Front and rear quick-detach flush cups plus two conventional sling swivel studs give you options for hanging a sling. There is a locking storage compartment in the pistol grip for spare parts or a small tool, a flared magwell that speeds up mag swaps, an off-hand support hook, and a soft rubber recoil pad. The barrel channel free-floats anything up to .920 inches and includes ProMag's harmonic pressure device for barrels that shoot better with a touch of upward tension.
Fitting the Archangel to Your Ruger
Worth knowing going in: this is a snug drop-in, not a loose one. A lot of owners find the receiver and magwell fit tight out of the box and do a little material removal with a file or Dremel, or warm the magwell with a heat gun, to get magazines dropping free. That snug inlet is by design and part of why the rifle locks up solid once assembled. Made in the USA and backed by a lifetime warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Archangel AAP1022OD stock fit all Ruger 10/22 rifles?
It is designed to fit standard Ruger 10/22 carbines across all production years. The free-float barrel channel accepts barrels up to .920 inches, so bull barrels are covered too. Keep in mind it is built for the standard carbine, not the 10/22 Takedown model.
Is the Archangel precision stock a true drop-in, or does it need fitting?
ProMag calls it a snug drop-in fit, and that is a fair description. Many owners find the receiver and magwell fit tight straight out of the box and do a little hand fitting with a file, sandpaper, or a Dremel to get magazines dropping cleanly. That tight inlet is intentional, since it helps the action lock up solid for better consistency.
Can I still use the factory iron sights and mount a scope on this stock?
Yes to both. The cheek riser drops low enough to run the OEM iron sights and raises high enough to give you a proper cheek weld behind a large-objective scope. With 25 positions across 1.625 inches of travel, you can dial in the right height for whatever optic you run.
What can I mount to the Archangel AAP1022OD forend?
The forend has an integrated 6 o'clock Picatinny rail with a sliding cover, so you can attach a bipod, light, or laser. For a sling, you get front and rear quick-detach flush cups along with two conventional sling swivel studs. There is also a locking storage compartment in the grip for small parts.
