Most suppressed rimfire setups involve a threaded barrel, a separate can, and a cleaning session you dread before you even pull the trigger. The Angstadt Arms Vanquish 22TD takes a different route. It is a complete replacement barrel for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown with the suppression built right in, so you pop off your factory barrel, install this one, and your takedown rifle is quiet from the first shot. Better yet, that first shot sounds like every shot after it, since the internal geometry keeps oxygen out of the expansion chamber and knocks out the first-round pop that plagues traditional cans.
The trick is in the porting. Precision ports along the barrel bleed off gas as the bullet travels down the bore, which drops standard velocity .22 LR below the speed of sound before it ever leaves the muzzle. No sonic crack, no hunting for pricey subsonic loads, just quiet shooting with the bulk-pack ammo you already have. And because Angstadt's patented design uses zero baffles, there is nothing inside to collect lead, nothing to strike, and cleanup amounts to wiping things down and running the bore like any other barrel. Rimfire fouling is brutal on conventional suppressors, so a sealed, baffle-free system on a .22 is a genuinely big deal.
This 16 inch version keeps the whole package compact and travel-friendly, which is the entire point of owning a Takedown in the first place. The 416R stainless barrel rides inside a 6061 aluminum shroud finished in high-temp black Cerakote, and the 0.920 inch bull barrel profile fits takedown stocks cut for a bull barrel. At around a pound and a half, it will not turn your lightweight packer into a boat anchor either.
The Bentz match chamber tightens things up for accuracy and runs great with standard velocity and subsonic loads. Skip CCI Stingers, since their longer case will not play nice with the match chamber. If you want something hotter, CCI Velocitor uses a standard case and runs just fine.
No, this version is built specifically for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown and locks in just like the factory takedown barrel. If you run a standard 10/22 or a Charger, Angstadt makes dedicated Vanquish models for those platforms. Make sure you grab the one that matches your receiver.
Nope, and that is one of its best tricks. The ported barrel bleeds off gas and slows standard velocity .22 LR to subsonic speeds before the bullet exits, so cheap bulk ammo sounds like premium subsonics. Subsonic loads work great too if that is what you already stock.
That is the beauty of the zero-baffle design. There is no baffle stack to disassemble or soak, so lead and carbon have nowhere to pile up inside. Just wipe down the exterior and clean the bore like you would any other rimfire barrel.
Almost any, with one exception. The Bentz match chamber will not accept CCI Stingers because their case is longer than a standard .22 LR case. Standard velocity, subsonic, and common high velocity loads like CCI Mini-Mags run fine, and CCI Velocitor is a good pick if you want extra speed.
