The AmeriGlo i-Dot ditches the traditional three-dot layout for a cleaner dot-over-dot setup. Instead of juggling three glowing points at night, you stack the front tritium dot right over the single rear dot and squeeze. In daylight, the wide orange outline around the front sight grabs your eye immediately, and the rear stays low-key so your focus lands exactly where it should, on that front post.
This set pairs a green tritium front with an orange outline and a green single-dot tritium rear. The front post measures 0.140 inches wide, giving you a stout, easy-to-catch reference during a fast draw. The rear notch runs wider than stock, which lets more light in around the front sight and speeds up how quickly you get on target. That extended rear also stretches your sight radius a touch, and the undercut face on the back cuts down glare so bright range lights or afternoon sun don't wash out your picture.
Both sights are machined from steel with a matte black finish, so they hold up to holster wear and slide racking without complaint. The flat front face on the rear sight gives you a ledge to rack the slide one-handed against a belt or boot if you ever need to. It's a genuine upgrade over the plastic sights most Glocks ship with, and folks running these tend to praise how bright the tritium glows and how fast the orange front pops in any light.
This GL5201 set drops onto Gen5 Glock 17, 19, 19X, 26, 34, and 45 pistols. It does not fit MOS-cut slides. Installation is straightforward with a proper sight pusher or install tool, and many owners hand it off to a local gunsmith for a quick press. Made in the USA.
In daylight, you focus on the bright orange front sight and put it on the target. In low light, you stack the glowing front tritium dot directly on top of the single rear tritium dot and press. It's a faster, less cluttered picture than the usual three-dot setup, which is exactly why a lot of people prefer the two-dot layout.
This set fits Gen5 Glock 17, 19, 19X, 26, 34, and 45 pistols. It is not cut for MOS slides, so if your Glock has an optics cut you'll want a different set. Always match the sight to your exact generation, since Gen5 dovetails differ from earlier models.
You can, as long as you have a proper sight pusher tool for the rear and a driver for the front screw. The rear drives in from the right side and the front seats into the oval slot with a dab of thread locker on the screw. If you'd rather not risk it, most gun shops will press a set in quickly for a small fee.
Tritium night sights glow on their own without needing a light source to charge them, and they typically stay usably bright for around 10 to 12 years before dimming. The green tritium in the i-Dot set gives a strong, even glow that owners consistently note holds up well over time.
