The AmeriGlo GL203 uses a dot-over-dot sighting method that borrows its logic from fighter aircraft targeting. Instead of hunting for three dots to line up, you just stack the front dot over the rear dot to "dot the i" and you're on target. It's a design a lot of folks find quicker and more intuitive than the traditional 3-dot layout, especially when the light gets low or the clock is ticking.
The front sight is where this set earns its keep. It pairs a green tritium lamp with a bright orange outline, so your eye snaps right to it whether you're standing in bright daylight or fumbling in the dark. The rear is a single green tritium dot centered below a square notch, which cuts down on visual clutter and helps you focus on that front sight. Both front and rear are all-metal, case-hardened construction, so you're leaving those flimsy factory polymer sights behind for good.
This GL203 set is cut for Glock Gen 1 through 4 pistols chambered in 10mm, .45, and .357 SIG. That covers a long list of models including the G20, G21, G29, G30, G31, G32, G36, G40, and G41. Front blade width runs 0.140 inches with a 0.2 inch height, and the rear sits at 0.315 inches overall with a 0.180 inch notch. Worth noting, this set is not made for Glock MOS slides, so if you're running an optics-cut slide you'll want a different model.
Rear sight installs with a Glock rear sight pusher tool, and the fit tends to run snug, which is exactly what you want so it stays put. The front sight uses a hex screw and AmeriGlo typically tosses in the front sight tool with the set. Most people put a dab of thread locker on that front screw to keep it from working loose over a few hundred rounds. If you're not comfortable pressing sights yourself, any gunsmith can knock this out in a few minutes.
Instead of aligning three dots side by side, the i-Dot uses a dot-over-dot setup where you simply stack the front dot on top of the rear dot. A lot of people find this faster and more intuitive, since you only have to line up two reference points vertically. It cuts down on visual clutter and helps your eye lock onto the front sight quicker.
This set is made for Glock Gen 1 through 4 pistols in 10mm, .45, and .357 SIG, which covers the G20, G21, G29, G30, G31, G32, G36, G40, and G41. It is not compatible with Glock MOS optics-cut slides, so double-check your slide before ordering. If you're running a standard non-MOS slide in one of those calibers, you're good to go.
