The double-stack polymer grip module gives you serious capacity — up to 20+1 rounds of 9mm — while still delivering that characteristic 1911 trigger feel that makes the platform so popular. The factory-tuned skeletonized trigger breaks cleanly at around 3.5 lbs with minimal take-up, which is a number most gunsmiths charge extra to get to. The RMSc optics cut on this model supports direct mounting of micro red dots that use the Shield RMSc footprint, including options like the Holosun EPS, Shield RMSc, and similar compact micro optics. No adapter plate is needed for RMSc-footprint optics. Keep in mind that this specific variant is not compatible with the Trijicon RMR footprint — if you want to run an RMR, you'd need the MOS Adapter version of the Romulus instead.
Yes, the 4.25-inch barrel on this model is both compensated and threaded. The compensator is the default configuration, but the threaded muzzle means you have the option to run a suppressor or alternate muzzle device down the road. Just confirm thread pitch compatibility with your suppressor manufacturer before purchasing.
The Romulus ships with one 17-round and one 20-round magazine and uses a double-stack 1911/2011-style magazine format. Alpha Foxtrot has noted the pistol is broadly compatible with most double-stack 1911 magazines on the market, though as with any 2011-platform pistol, it's worth running a functional test with any third-party magazines before trusting them for serious use.
