There are suppressors built for the occasional range day, and then there are suppressors built to take a beating for years. The AlleyCat .308 Inconel 718 QD falls firmly in the second camp. C.A.T. developed the AlleyCat line with a team of current and former Special Mission Unit personnel, and it shows in the priorities: reduced sound signature, low breach fume back at the shooter, minimal blast propagation, and durability that holds up under a punishing round count. This is the kind of can that gets specced for duty rifles, and it brings that same toughness to your precision .308 build.
Inconel 718 is a nickel-based superalloy borrowed from the aerospace world, and it laughs at the kind of heat and erosion that fatigue titanium and stainless cans over time. That heat tolerance is why this version of the AlleyCat carries a shorter minimum barrel length than its titanium sibling, so it plays nicely with shorter gas guns that dump a lot of unburnt powder into the blast chamber. C.A.T. even built in a sacrificial waffle-style erosion wall at the end of the blast chamber to absorb that abuse and protect the internals. The DLC finish adds corrosion resistance and keeps the exterior slick and easy to clean up.
At 8.55 inches long, 1.75 inches in diameter, and 23.1 ounces, this is a purposeful precision rifle suppressor rather than a featherweight. It runs C.A.T.'s Sniper2 baffle technology, optimized for velocities in the 2,200 to 2,900 feet per second range, with a 20 inch M110A2-style platform being the sweet spot. The included 1x16LH QD mount means fast, repeatable attachment, and once you set up muzzle devices on multiple rifles, swapping the can between them takes seconds instead of a trip to the tool bench.

Inconel 718 is a nickel-based superalloy with far greater heat and erosion resistance than titanium, which is why this version carries a shorter minimum barrel length and handles higher volume shooting schedules. The tradeoff is weight, with the Inconel model coming in at 23.1 ounces versus 12.5 for titanium. If your rifle sees hard use or shorter barrels, the 718 is the tougher pick.
It ships with a 1x16LH quick-detach mount from C.A.T.'s Spooky 1 system. That gives you fast, repeatable attachment and removal, and if you set up compatible muzzle devices on multiple rifles you can move the suppressor between them in seconds.
As a .308 caliber can it will pass smaller bores, and the manufacturer even lists the minimum barrel length for this Inconel model with 5.56 NATO in mind. Just know that a dedicated 5.56 can will usually be a bit quieter on a 5.56 rifle since the bore is tighter. For a do-it-all rifle suppressor, though, this setup works well.
Yes. C.A.T. designed a waffle-style sacrificial erosion wall at the end of the blast chamber specifically to absorb wear from unburnt powder particulates, especially on short barrels. Seeing wear there is expected and it exists to protect the rest of the internals.
