These Allen ULTRX Tapered Foam Ear Plugs are the grab-and-go workhorses you want stocked in the truck, the range bag, and the garage. The tapered, flared shape rolls down small for easy insertion, then expands back to fill the ear canal for a snug seal. They carry an NRR of 32 dB and are made from soft, flexible polyurethane foam, so they knock down harmful noise without feeling like you crammed rocks in your ears. The bright lime green color makes them easy to spot when they hit the ground and easy for a range officer to see you're wearing them.
Foam plugs live and die by comfort and seal, and these do both well. The soft foam protects the outer ear and the inner canal during longer wear, and the universal tapered design fits most ear sizes without fuss. They're tested and certified to the ANSI S3.19 standard, which is the benchmark you want backing up any NRR claim.
A 32 dB rating puts these near the top of what disposable foam plugs offer, which makes them a solid pick for pistol and rifle range days, indoor bays, mowing the yard, running power tools, concerts, travel, and sleeping through a snoring roommate. If you've got sensitive ears or you're around serious noise, you can double up and wear them under a set of muffs for extra defense.
Buying foam plugs 50 pairs at a time just makes sense. Foam plugs are meant to be swapped out once they get dirty or lose their bounce, and having a full jar means you never skip protection because you ran out. Toss a pair in every jacket pocket, hand a set to your buddy who forgot his, and keep the rest on the shelf ready to go.
They carry a Noise Reduction Rating of 32 dB, which is near the top end for disposable foam plugs. That level of protection is plenty for pistol and rifle range work, power tools, and other loud environments. Getting the full rating depends on a good seal, so roll them down thin and hold them in place while the foam expands.
Yes, and it's a smart move if you're around serious noise or have sensitive ears. Doubling up plugs and muffs adds a solid extra layer of defense at indoor ranges or during high-volume shooting. The soft foam sits comfortably under a set of muffs without pushing them out of place.
Foam plugs like these are best treated as short-term use and swapped out once they get dirty or stop springing back to shape. That's the whole point of a 50-pair jar, so you always have a fresh set on hand. Keeping a clean pair in rotation gives you the best seal and comfort every time.
The tapered, flared design is built to accommodate most adult ear sizes with a universal fit. The soft foam conforms to the shape of your ear canal for a snug seal. If you have narrower ear canals, ULTRX also makes a smaller tapered version, but this standard size works for the majority of folks.
