Description

Agency Arms teamed up with Military Armament Corporation to build the MAC-1014 Tradesman, and the result is a 12 gauge that ships with the kind of upgrades most folks spend months adding to a stock gun. The heart of it is a self-regulated dual-piston gas system that cycles both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells without fuss, and the 18.5 inch barrel comes ported from the factory to knock down muzzle rise between shots. Add in the Benelli Mobil choke threading and you can tune your patterns for buckshot, birdshot, or whatever else you plan to feed it.

Agency Upgrades Built Into the Tradesman 1014

This is where the MAC-1014 Tradesman separates itself from the standard 1014. You get the Agency machined bolt, oversized charging handle, extended bolt release, enhanced lifter, and an opened-up loading port that makes quad loads and quick top-offs a whole lot smoother. The receiver wears a Picatinny rail with an adjustable ghost ring rear sight and a white blade front, so you can run it as-is or mount a red dot when you are ready. The Agency handguard gives you attachment real estate for a light, and QD cups in the stock handle sling duty without adding hardware.

Running the MAC-1014 at Home and on the Range

Capacity sits at 5+1 with a faux two-piece extension tube that gives it that full-length duty profile, and the gun supports ghost loading if you want one more round on board. At roughly 8.3 pounds with a rubber recoil pad and a pistol grip synthetic stock, it soaks up 12 gauge recoil better than you would expect, which matters when you are stringing fast follow-ups. The black anodized finish keeps things low maintenance.

Why the Tradesman Earns Its Keep

Gas-piston semi-auto shotguns with this feature set usually cost a good bit more once you factor in aftermarket parts. The Tradesman shows up ready to work for home defense, tactical shotgun classes, or just burning through a case of shells on a Saturday. It is backed by a one-year warranty plus a lifetime service plan, so it is built to stick around.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Agency Arms MAC-1014 Tradesman gas operated or inertia driven?

It runs a self-regulated dual-piston gas system, not an inertia action. The dual pistons regulate gas automatically across different loads, so it cycles both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells reliably. Gas operation also tends to feel softer on the shoulder than inertia guns, especially with heavier defensive loads.

What is the difference between the MAC-1014 Tradesman and the standard MAC 1014?

The Tradesman is the Agency Arms collaboration version, so it comes upgraded from the factory. You get the Agency machined bolt, oversized charging handle, extended bolt release, enhanced lifter, enlarged loading port, ported barrel, and the Agency handguard. Building a base 1014 up to this spec with aftermarket parts would take real time and money.

Can I mount a red dot on the MAC-1014 Tradesman?

Yes. The receiver comes with a Picatinny rail installed and is drilled and tapped, so most pistol-style red dots with a Picatinny mount will bolt right on. It also works with the Scalarworks SYNC mount using M4x0.7mm screws if you want a lower, more integrated optic setup. The ghost ring sights work great on their own if you prefer to keep it simple.

What choke tubes does the Tradesman 1014 use?

The 18.5 inch barrel is threaded for the Benelli/Mobil choke pattern, which is one of the most widely supported systems out there. Three choke tubes and a wrench come in the box, so you can pattern it for defensive buckshot or open it up for range work right away. Aftermarket Mobil-pattern chokes from major brands will fit as well.
