The M4-2000 earned its reputation the hard way, riding on duty rifles and helping introduce a whole generation to suppressed shooting. The HUB2K is AAC's modern follow-up, and it keeps that familiar silhouette while rebuilding everything underneath with current manufacturing. The whole can is 3D printed from DMLS 718 Inconel, a superalloy that laughs at heat and abuse, which is how AAC managed to make it both lighter and tougher than the original without losing sound performance. At 6.04 inches long, 1.5 inches in diameter, and around 12.7 ounces, it sits nicely on a carbine without turning it into a boat anchor.
The baffle stack keeps the proven Mod 8 geometry but opens the bore up to 6mm. That oversized bore does two useful things: it reduces backpressure so your rifle runs cleaner with less gas in your face, and it gives extra margin against end cap strikes on short-barreled guns where alignment gets less forgiving. The bigger bore also means it covers 6mm ARC in addition to .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO, so one can handles multiple uppers. A high-temp Cerakote finish keeps the exterior looking right after plenty of range days, and the full-auto rating tells you AAC built this for volume, not just weekend plinking.
Instead of locking you into a proprietary system, the rear of the can uses the industry-standard 1.375×24 HUB pattern. It ships with a 1/2×28 direct thread mount featuring an integrated muzzle brake that helps protect the blast baffle, so you can spin it onto a standard AR barrel the day it comes home. Down the road, swap in just about any HUB-compatible QD mount or adapter to match however your rifles are set up. Classic looks, modern guts, and mounting flexibility that keeps up with your collection. Hard combo to argue with.
It handles both. The HUB2K is bored to 6mm with oversized baffles, so it covers .223 Rem, 5.56 NATO, and 6mm ARC. That extra bore clearance is also what helps cut backpressure and reduce the chance of end cap strikes on shorter barrels.
The rear of the can uses the industry-standard 1.375×24 HUB thread pattern, so it accepts just about any HUB-compatible quick-detach mount or adapter on the market. Out of the box it comes with a 1/2×28 direct thread mount that has a built-in muzzle brake, so you're ready to go on a standard AR barrel from day one.
