The ATI AR-22 GEN2 kit takes a plain-Jane Ruger 10/22 and turns it into something that looks and handles like a modern sporting rifle. It works by wrapping your factory barreled action in a two-piece polymer receiver shroud, then building the AR-style furniture off of that. The clever part is that the forend mounts to the receiver and never touches the barrel, so your barrel stays free-floated and your accuracy doesn't take a hit. Reviewers who tested groups before and after the swap found the whole assembly stays rock solid with no wobble or flex once it's together.
You get the TactLite GEN2 six-position adjustable stock with the TracLock system, which tightens up horizontal and vertical play on the buffer tube for smooth, secure length-of-pull changes without any secondary locking hardware. There's an X2-style pistol grip with a textured sure-grip backstrap and an X Series thin recoil pad that's non-slip and removable. Dual-sided QD attachment points let you run a push-button sling on either side, and the 21-inch aluminum Picatinny top rail gives you plenty of real estate for a scope, red dot, or backup irons.
The 6-sided TactLite GEN2 synthetic forend is where you make this rifle your own. You can bolt ATI Picatinny rail sections anywhere along it to add a light, a vertical grip, or a bipod (rail segments are sold separately). A military-grade synthetic nose cone caps it off and holds up to rough handling. One thing worth knowing going in: the barrel exits the nose cone at the 12 o'clock position and sits top-center rather than dead middle, which is normal for this design.
Install is straightforward with a screwdriver and a little patience, and the kit ships with the nuts, screws, and hardware you need. It fits standard and bull barrel 10/22 rifles but does not work with the 10/22 Takedown. Made in the USA and backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
It fits standard Ruger 10/22 rifles as well as those wearing a bull barrel, since the free-floated forend leaves plenty of room around the barrel. The one exception is the 10/22 Takedown, which this kit does not work with. Check which model you have before ordering.

You'll pull your barreled action out of the factory stock, sandwich it in the two-piece shroud, and build up from there. Take your time following the instructions and you'll be good to go.
