The ATI Strikeforce SKS Stock in Flat Dark Earth swaps out that old military wood or worn factory furniture for a modern polymer chassis built around your rifle. This is the Gen 2 version, which brings an updated buttstock and the improved TracLOCK system to the table. If you have been sitting on a surplus SKS wishing it handled more like today's rifles, this is the upgrade that gets you there without touching the fundamentals of the gun.
The whole thing is molded from DuPont extreme temperature glass-reinforced polymer, so it shrugs off cold, heat, and the occasional chemical splash without getting brittle or soft. It runs a TactLite Gen 2 six-position adjustable buttstock, letting you tune length of pull for your build or your gear. The TracLOCK Gen 2 system is the part worth bragging about, since it locks out both horizontal and vertical play on the buffer tube for tight, secure adjustments with no wobble and no secondary latches to fuss with.
The stock side-folds to the left of the receiver, which is handy for storage, transport, or tucking the rifle into a shorter case. You can still run the gun with it folded if the situation calls for it. Fair warning based on what owners report: like most SKS parts, some minor fitting is normal and the blade bayonet needs to come off before installation. A little patience during the swap pays off with a solid, rattle-free fit.
Up front you get four forward Picatinny rail locations for lights, lasers, a bipod, or a vertical grip, plus rail covers for the sections you leave bare. Sling options are generous with dual-sided QD points, swivel studs, and a slot for a tactical sling. The removable and adjustable cheek rest helps you build a proper cheek weld, the X1-style grip fills the hand nicely, and the X Series recoil pad takes the sting out of a range session. It is designed to fit most SKS rifles, and many owners drop it on with little trouble. That said, SKS rifles vary quite a bit from one factory and country of origin to the next, so some minor fitting with a Dremel or file is common and normal. You will also need to remove the blade bayonet before installation.
Yes. The stock side-folds to the left of the receiver, and the rifle can be fired from that folded position when the situation calls for it. It is mainly there to make the gun more compact for storage and transport, but the option to run it folded is a nice bonus.
