Andro Corp Industries built this 8 inch 5.56 NATO upper as a genuinely complete unit, not a barreled receiver you still have to hunt down parts for. The M16 profile nitride bolt carrier group and charging handle come installed, so once it's on your pistol or SBR lower and pinned up, you're pretty much ready to load a magazine and go. ACI builds and test fires everything in house at their Winter Garden, Florida facility, which matters when you're trusting a compact gas system to run right out of the box.
The barrel itself is 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel with a QPQ nitride finish, the same process a lot of shooters know as Melonite. That treatment hardens the surface against heat and corrosion and makes the bore easier to keep clean over time. It's cut with a 1:7 twist, which handles the full spread of 5.56 bullet weights without getting picky, and it uses M4 feed ramps for smoother, more forgiving feeding into the chamber. Since the barrel is only 8 inches, ACI paired it with a pistol length gas system and a .750 low profile gas block, which is the right call for keeping a short barrel cycling reliably without beating up the internals.
The upper receiver is forged 7075-T6 aluminum with a dry film lube coating and T-marked flat top rail, built to the same M4 spec dimensions most AR-15 owners already know. It comes with the forward assist and ejection port cover already installed, both nice details to see pre-assembled rather than left for you to fit. Wrapping the barrel is a free float M-LOK handguard, giving you clean mounting real estate at just about any clock position for a light, foregrip, or sling attachment without touching the barrel itself. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 and finished with an A2 flash hider, a solid muzzle device for a build this compact.

It's built to mil-spec dimensions, so it should mate up cleanly with any standard mil-spec AR-15 lower receiver. No fitting or modification needed on a properly built lower. Just make sure your lower is set up for the intended barrel length before pairing them together.
With only 8 inches of barrel to work with, there isn't enough room for a longer gas system to function reliably. The pistol length system taps gas closer to the chamber, which keeps a short barrel cycling consistently. It does run a little dirtier than longer gas systems, which is normal for this barrel length and easily managed with regular cleaning.
The QPQ nitride process hardens the barrel's surface against heat, wear, and corrosion, and it holds up well even if you're not meticulous about cleaning after every range trip. It also gives the barrel a smooth, low friction bore that's easier to maintain long term compared to an untreated barrel.
