Geissele built the Super Precision MRO mount for folks who are tired of fighting their red dot every time they take it on and off. This one was developed specifically to work with the Trijicon MRO and other optics sharing that footprint, and it puts the dot at an absolute co-witness height. That means your backup iron sights sit centered in the window alongside the dot, giving you a fast, familiar sight picture if your optic ever goes dark.
The whole mount starts life as a single piece of 7075-T6 high strength aluminum, so there are no welds or pressed-together parts to work loose over time. It gets a Type 3 hard coat anodized finish in Geissele's proprietary DDC, or Desert Dirt Color, which stands up to holster wear, weather, and the usual abuse without looking beat up. At right around 2.6 ounces, it keeps the whole setup light without giving up any beef where it counts.
Instead of the usual single crossbolt, Geissele uses an updated take on the classic nut and bolt clamp that cinches down on your Picatinny rail with roughly 1,400 pounds of clamping force. Three shear lugs grab the rail slots to lock everything in place, which is where that trademark rigidity and repeatable return to zero come from. Pull the optic for cleaning or travel and you can trust it to land right back where you left it.
This mount clamps to any standard Picatinny rail and is cut for the Trijicon MRO pattern, so the optic bolts straight on. This mount is built specifically for the Trijicon MRO and other optics that share the MRO mounting footprint. The optic bolts directly to the mount, which then clamps onto your rail. It will not fit Aimpoint T-series or other patterns that use a different footprint.
The 05-402S is the absolute co-witness version, which centers the red dot so your backup iron sights line up right in the middle of the window. Geissele also offers a lower 1/3 co-witness model for folks who prefer the dot sitting higher in the glass. If you want your irons dead center with the dot, absolute is the one you want.
