Anyone who runs an L.E. Wilson trimmer knows the case holder is where the magic happens. This one is cut for the 7.5×55 Swiss (also known as the 7.5mm Schmidt Rubin), and it's the New Case version, meaning it's sized for brand new brass and full-length resized cases. Instead of gripping the rim like a standard shell holder, it supports the full body of the case the way a chamber does, so everything stays in perfect axial alignment while you trim.
The whole idea behind the Wilson system is holding brass by its body taper rather than the case head. That design keeps the mouth square to the cutter and takes the guesswork out of uniform trim lengths. You just drop the case in, give the head a light tap on a firm surface, slide it into the trimmer, and trim. When you're done, a quick tap on the mouth pops it back out. It's machined for consistent, repeatable results firing after firing.
This is the New Case holder, so it's dialed in for new and full-length sized brass, which runs slightly smaller in diameter than fired brass. If you neck size only or you're prepping fired brass, you'd want the fired-case version of the holder instead, since expanded brass won't seat the same way. A lot of 7.5×55 reloaders end up keeping both on the bench to cover every stage of their brass. For oversized or generous chambers, fired brass may not drop back into the new holder even after sizing, which is worth knowing before you order.
Beyond length trimming, this holder does double duty for primer pocket reaming, neck reaming, and deburring when you're running the L.E. Wilson Uniform Deburring Tool, which is sold separately. It fits any model of L.E. Wilson case trimmer, so whether you're on the classic trimmer or the stainless micrometer unit, this holder slots right in. The New Case holder is sized for brand new brass and full-length resized cases, which sit slightly smaller in diameter. A fired case holder is reamed a touch larger to fit brass that has expanded in the chamber or been neck sized only. Many 7.5×55 Swiss reloaders keep both on hand so they're covered no matter which stage their brass is in.

It's not recommended. Fired brass expands in the body and shoulder, so it may not seat properly or at all in a holder cut for new brass. For fired or neck-sized-only cases, go with the fired case version of the 7.5×55 Swiss holder instead.
