The 6.5×55 Swedish Mauser is one of those classic cartridges that rewards a careful handloader, and this Redding Deluxe set is built to get the most out of it. Instead of the usual two-die package, Redding bundles three dies together so you can match your sizing approach to how you actually shoot. You get a full-length sizing die, a dedicated neck sizing die, and a bullet seating die, all machined from heat-treated steel to the tolerances Redding has been known for since 1946.
The three-die layout is the whole point here. The full-length sizing die resizes the entire case back toward spec and includes a decapping rod assembly with a neck expander, which is the way to go when you're feeding multiple rifles or want reliable chambering every time. The neck sizing die only works the case neck, so the brass stays fire-formed to your chamber. That means less working of the metal, longer case life, and often tighter groups out of a bolt gun. Having both in one box lets you switch your process without buying a second set.
The seating die features a built-in crimping ring and a seating plug, so you can run a crimp or skip it depending on your load. The dies use the standard 7/8-14 thread, so they drop into any common single-stage or turret press. Everything ships in a plastic storage case along with a spare decapping pin and an Allen wrench for the lock rings.
Keep in mind the shellholder is sold separately, so grab the correct one for the 6.5×55 if you don't already have it on the bench.
