Description
When the bolt is the part of your AR-15 taking the most abuse, you want one built by people who obsess over the details. This is the Sons of Liberty Gun Works factory OEM bolt assembly, the same bolt that ships inside their well-regarded complete BCGs, offered here on its own so you can replace a worn part or finish a build without buying a whole carrier group. It handles 5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Rem, and thanks to a shared bolt face it also works with .300 Blackout and 6mm ARC builds.
What Makes This SOLGW Bolt Assembly Worth It
The bolt itself is machined from Carpenter Technology No. 158 alloy, heat-treated to military specifications, shot-peened, and vibratory tumbled. That combination is what most serious builders look for in a duty-grade bolt, and SOLGW backs it with the testing to prove it. Each bolt is high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspected, with the SP, HP, and MP markings laser engraved right into the part so you can verify it passed. That inspection process is the difference between a bolt that lasts and one that cracks at the lugs early.
Built With Upgraded Internals
This is not a bare-bones bolt. It comes fully assembled with a 4340 tool steel extractor, an S7 tool steel ejector, a black extractor insert and elastomer buffer, and standard stainless steel gas rings. The extractor spring setup is designed to keep tension consistent through long strings of fire, which is a common failure point on cheaper bolts. Everything wears a manganese phosphate finish that holds lube well and shrugs off corrosion.
Dropping the Bolt Into Your AR-15
Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable working on the platform. It slides into any Mil-Spec bolt carrier, so you can use it as a spare, a replacement, or the heart of a fresh upper build. Sons of Liberty has earned a strong reputation for standing behind these parts, and their name on the bolt carries real weight among folks who run their rifles hard.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this SOLGW bolt assembly come with a bolt carrier?
No, this is the bolt assembly only, not a complete bolt carrier group. It includes the bolt, extractor, ejector, and gas rings fully assembled and ready to install. You will need a Mil-Spec AR-15 carrier for it to drop into. If you want the complete package, SOLGW also sells a full BCG under a different part number.
What calibers will this AR-15 bolt work with?
It is built for 5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Remington, which is the most common AR-15 chambering. Because it shares the same bolt face, it also works for .300 Blackout and 6mm ARC builds. As always, verify your headspace when swapping a bolt into a barrel it was not paired with.
Is this bolt HPT and MPI tested?
Yes. Each bolt is high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspected to catch any hidden flaws before it leaves the factory. Those markings, along with the shot-peened designation, are laser engraved right into the bolt so you can confirm it passed. That level of testing is exactly what you want in a part that takes the brunt of the firing cycle.
Will this fit any Mil-Spec AR-15 carrier?
It is designed to fit any standard Mil-Spec bolt carrier, so it makes a solid replacement or spare. Installation is simple for anyone familiar with the platform, using the cam pin and firing pin from your existing carrier. Keep it lubed and it will run right alongside the rest of a quality build.
