This is one of Williams' streamlined replacement front sights, machined in blued steel with a brass gold bead pressed into the top. It stands .343" tall measured from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the bead, wears a narrow profile, and uses a slim 1/16" bead. That combination makes it a solid fix when your factory sight is damaged, missing, or sitting at the wrong height and throwing your point of impact off.
The gold bead is the real draw here. It catches whatever light is around and gives you a warm, high-contrast aiming point that stands out against dark game, black bullseyes, and shaded backdrops far better than a plain bare-metal blade. The narrow width and 1/16" bead keep the aiming point tight, so you're not covering up your target at distance the way a fat bead can.
Williams builds these to drop into the industry standard 3/8" dovetail, which covers a huge range of rifles from lever guns to rimfires and older centerfires. Front sight height is the piece people trip up on, so measure from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the bead on your current sight before ordering. If your rifle is shooting high with the rear sight bottomed out, a taller front bead is the usual cure, and if it's shooting low you want to go shorter. Williams offers this same streamlined bead in a spread of heights and widths so you can dial it in.
Install is straightforward if you've drifted a dovetail sight before. Tap the old one out with a brass or nylon punch, clean the slot, and drift the new one in from the correct side. These are cut to spec, though a little minor fitting with a fine file on the dovetail base is normal to get a snug, centered fit. Once it's seated and centered on the barrel, you're ready to sight in and confirm your zero at the range.
Measure your current front sight from the bottom of the dovetail to the top of the bead, since that's how these are sized. If your rifle prints high with the rear sight bottomed out, go taller than what you have now, and if it prints low, go shorter. Williams offers this streamlined gold bead in several heights, so match it to what your setup needs rather than guessing.
