You can run it inside the waistband on your strong side, flip it outside the belt vertically at the hip, tuck it horizontal in the small of your back, or set it up cross-draw for easy reach when you're seated in a truck or at a desk. It moves around your belt the same way your carry needs move around your day.
Size 3 is the sweet spot for compact carry guns. It's built as a multi-fit for pistols in the Glock 26 / 27 class, the S&W M&P Shield and 2.0 9/40, Ruger LC9 and SR9c, Sig P365, Walther PPS, and a long list of similar single- and double-stack compacts. Because it's a molded multi-fit rather than a gun-specific shell, a couple of models in the range may sit a hair looser or tighter than others, and there's usually enough room to work around small lights or lasers on lower-profile setups.
The body is hand-molded from 100% certified American heavy native steerhide, reinforced and double stitched so it holds its shape and keeps decent retention as it breaks in. For inside-the-waistband duty it rides on a heavy-duty spring steel belt clip that grabs the belt and stays put, while the leather belt slots handle the outside-the-waistband positions. When it's tucked IWB, about the only thing showing is that metal clip riding on your belt line.
This one is set up for right-hand draw only, so lefties will want to grab the left-hand version instead. It's a straightforward, traditional leather option for anyone who wants real flexibility without buying four separate rigs, and 1791 backs it with a lifetime warranty on the craftsmanship.

The steerhide is molded and reinforced so it holds its shape and breaks in over time, and leather tends to sit comfortably against the body compared to some hard shells. Many carriers find the small-of-back and IWB positions the easiest for long days. As with any new leather rig, expect a short break-in period before it settles to your body and belt.
No, this particular model is built for right-hand draw only. 1791 offers the same 4-Way in a left-hand configuration, so southpaws should look for that version instead. The rest of the design and sizing carries over the same way.
