Daniel Defense took the same engineering that defines their full-size DD5 rifle line and packaged it around a 12.5" cold hammer forged, chrome-lined barrel chambered in .308 Winchester / 7.62x51mm NATO. The result is a compact large-frame AR pistol that doesn't compromise on accuracy, durability, or reliability. The barrel runs a proprietary S2W (Strength-to-Weight) profile with a 1:10" twist and mid-length gas system, and the muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 for suppressor use right out of the box.
The centerpiece of this platform is Daniel Defense's 4-Bolt Connection System, which eliminates the traditional barrel nut and dramatically increases the surface area connecting the barrel to the upper receiver. That added rigidity is a big deal on a short-barreled platform, keeping harmonics consistent and wringing out accuracy that you'd normally only expect from a precision bolt gun. The bolt carrier group is superfinished with a DLC coating for smooth operation and easy cleaning, and it's built with dual ejectors and enhanced extractor geometry for reliable cycling even in rough conditions. An integrated buffer in the bolt carrier also helps tame the recoil impulse that .308 in a short package can produce.
The user-adjustable gas block is genuinely suppressor-ready, with dedicated suppressed and unsuppressed settings, so you're not just running wide open all the time when you put a can on it. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the GRIP-N-RIP charging handle with anti-gas features, ambi bolt catch, mag release, and safety selector. The 10.5" free-floating M-LOK handguard gives you plenty of real estate for lights, foregrips, or whatever else you run.

This specific version (MPN 02-088-30157-067) ships without a magazine. The DD5 P accepts all SR-25 pattern magazines, so you can run Magpul PMAGs, DPMS-pattern mags, or other SR-25 compatible options in whatever capacity works for you.
