Description
Low backpressure cans have been the big push in suppressors lately, and plenty of them trade away sound or flash performance to get there. The Optimus 6 is Griffin Armament's answer to that problem. It's a 6mm bore suppressor built with multi-jet fusion additive manufacturing, which lets Griffin print a high-flow baffle stack that vents gas forward instead of dumping it back through your rifle. The result is less gas to the face, a cleaner-running gun, and a noticeably better experience on shorter barrels and suppressed carbines. It was designed around 5.56 platforms but handles 6mm projectiles just as well, so it covers everything from your 11.5 inch AR to a 6 ARC or 6mm Creedmoor bolt gun.
Flash Control That Matches the Optimus 6 Name
The quad-tine Flash-Killer end cap wasn't an afterthought here. Griffin tuned it specifically to work with the low backpressure baffle stack, and the flash performance stands out compared to most flow-through designs on the market. Sound reduction comes in at 22.2 dB, with Griffin measuring 137.0 dB on an 11.5 inch MK2 running 55 grain M193. For a can that flows this much gas, those are strong numbers.
Built From Solid 17-4 Stainless, Inside and Out
The entire suppressor is 17-4 H900 stainless steel, and it's full auto rated. The printed core gets machined after production, so the exterior is smooth instead of showing the rough layer lines you see on a lot of printed cans. The blast shield and mount are machined in-house and laser welded to the core, and the whole thing wears a high-temp FDE Cerakote finish. Griffin backs it with their Perpetual Lifetime Warranty.
Dual-Lok Mounting on the Optimus 6
This is the Dual-Lok variant, measuring 6.68 inches long and 17.2 ounces with a 1.73 inch tube diameter for extra internal volume. The Dual-Lok taper interface gives you fast, repeatable attachment that locks up tight every time, and an EZ-Brake in .22 cal 1/2×28 comes in the box so you can mount up right away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run the Optimus 6 on a 5.56 rifle even though it has a 6mm bore?
Yes, and that's exactly what Griffin designed it around. The Optimus 6 was optimized for 5.56 platforms, with the 6mm bore giving you the flexibility to run cartridges like 6 ARC or 6mm Creedmoor on the same can. It performs well on both without needing separate suppressors.
Does the Optimus 6 Dual-Lok really reduce gas blowback?
That's the whole point of the design. The 3D printed high-flow baffle stack routes gas forward and out rather than back through the action, which cuts down on the gas-to-the-face problem common with traditional baffle cans on ARs. Owners running it on gas guns report noticeably less blowback compared to conventional suppressors.
Is a muzzle device included with the Dual-Lok version?
Yes, the Dual-Lok and Taper Mount versions ship with an EZ-Brake in .22 cal with 1/2×28 threads. Only the Utility Mount (HUB) version requires you to buy a mount and muzzle device separately. If your barrel has different threading, additional Dual-Lok compatible muzzle devices are available from Griffin.
Is the Optimus 6 rated for full auto and short barrels?
It is full auto rated, thanks to the solid 17-4 H900 stainless steel construction and laser-welded blast shield. Griffin's own sound testing was done on an 11.5 inch barrel, so it's clearly built with short-barreled rifles in mind. It's also covered by Griffin's Perpetual Lifetime Warranty if anything ever goes wrong.
