This version of the Viper G2 wears a genuine Turkish walnut stock and forend with cut checkering and a semi-gloss finish, matched to a black receiver and blued 28 inch barrel. It is a classic field look that stands out in a rack full of synthetic guns. Underneath the pretty wood, the details are practical: a chrome-lined chamber and barrel for easy cleanup and corrosion resistance, a vent rib with a red fiber optic front sight for fast target pickup in any light, and a rubber recoil pad to take the sting out of magnum loads. A shim kit comes standard so you can adjust the stock fit to your build, and TriStar backs the gun with a five year warranty.
The removable choke system uses the common Beretta/Benelli Mobil thread pattern, and TriStar includes three tubes, improved cylinder, modified, and full, along with a choke box and wrench. That covers you from close-flushing quail to late-season geese without buying anything extra, and aftermarket Mobil tubes are everywhere if you want to fine-tune patterns later.

That versatility is its biggest strength. The 28 inch vent rib barrel with fiber optic front sight swings well on clays and upland birds, while the 3 inch chamber and included full choke cover waterfowl and turkey duty. At 6.9 pounds it carries easily in the field but still soaks up recoil thanks to the gas action.
It lets you empty or swap the shell in the chamber without feeding a new round from the magazine tube. That is handy for quickly changing loads, say from steel shot to a heavier goose load, or for unloading the chamber at the truck while leaving the tube topped off. It is a simple feature you end up using more than you would expect.
