Springfield didn't cut corners where it counts. The upper and lower are forged 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hardcoat anodized finish, and the Accu-Tite tension system keeps receiver fit snug instead of rattly. The bolt carrier group uses a 9310 steel bolt that's been HPT and MPI tested, built specifically for the higher pressures .308 dishes out. A taper-pinned low-profile gas block feeds the direct impingement system for consistent cycling, and the nickel boron coated flat trigger breaks clean without the grit you get from a standard GI setup.
The free-float aluminum handguard gives you a full-length Picatinny top rail plus plenty of M-LOK real estate for lights, bipods, or a hand stop, and Springfield's locking tabs keep it all anchored solid. Low-profile flip-up sights come installed and adjustable for windage and elevation, so you can shoot the rifle the day you bring it home, and built-in QD points make sling setup simple.
