Description

There really isn't another pistol-caliber carbine that looks or shoots quite like the KRISS Vector. That distinct blocky profile between the grip and trigger guard isn't just for show. That's where the magic lives. The patented Super V Recoil Mitigation System routes the bolt downward into a channel on firing rather than straight back into your shoulder. Combined with one of the lowest bore axes of any production firearm, the result is a .45 ACP carbine that shoots noticeably flatter than you'd expect from a big bore round. Follow-up shots come faster, and the whole experience at the range is just more fun.

What Makes the Vector CRB Gen II Different

The Gen II brought meaningful improvements over the original Vector. The trigger was redesigned to a pivoting single-stage setup with a cleaner break than its predecessor, the ambidextrous safety now has a short 45-degree throw for quicker transitions, and the folding stock was swapped for a mil-spec M4 adapter with a six-position collapsible DS150 stock. That last change opens the door to swapping in any standard M4-compatible buttstock you prefer. The 16-inch barrel is 4140 chrome moly steel with a black nitride finish and a 1:16 twist optimized for .45 ACP, threaded for suppressor or muzzle device use. The receiver is aluminum, finished in Alpine White Cerakote that matches the stock and polymer grip panels for a cohesive all-white look.

Running the KRISS Vector CRB in Alpine White

One of the more practical strengths of this platform is magazine compatibility. The Vector runs on full-size Glock .45 ACP magazines, meaning if you already own a G21 or similar, you've got a ready-made supply of mags that work in both guns. A full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail runs the length of the receiver, giving you plenty of real estate to mount a red dot, holographic sight, or magnified optic. Flip-up front and rear sights come installed from the factory as a backup or standalone solution. There's also a short bottom rail forward of the magazine well for a light or other accessory. The tool-free disassembly via pushout pins makes field stripping and caliber-lower swaps fast and straightforward.

The Alpine White finish makes this one stand out on a crowded rack, and that's kind of the point. Whether you're running it in a PCC division at a local match or just want something genuinely different at the range, the Vector CRB in this finish delivers both performance and personality.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Super V Recoil Mitigation System actually work?

Instead of the bolt cycling straight back like a traditional blowback design, the KRISS Super V system routes the bolt carrier downward into a channel in front of the trigger guard upon firing. This redirects recoil energy away from the shooter's shoulder and acts as a counterweight to muzzle rise. Combined with the Vector's extremely low bore axis, the practical result is noticeably less felt recoil and muzzle climb compared to conventional .45 ACP carbines.

What magazines does the KRISS Vector CRB Gen II take?

The Vector CRB is designed to run full-size Glock .45 ACP magazines, specifically those compatible with the Glock 21 platform. This is one of the most convenient things about the platform since those mags are widely available from multiple manufacturers. KRISS also offers their own MagEx extension kits for increased capacity if you want to run more rounds.

Is the Vector CRB Gen II a good fit for PCC competition?

It's a legitimate option for pistol-caliber carbine divisions and the .45 ACP chambering provides a solid power factor. The low recoil impulse from the Super V system helps with fast target transitions, and the full-length Picatinny rail makes it easy to mount whatever optic setup your division allows. The Glock magazine compatibility is a big plus for competitors who want to standardize across their handgun and carbine.

Does the Alpine White Cerakote finish hold up to regular range use?

Cerakote is a proven firearm finish that handles wear, moisture, and heat well under normal use conditions. The Alpine White Cerakote on this model covers both the aluminum receiver housing and the polymer stock components, giving the whole package a consistent look. General range use and reasonable handling won't give it any trouble, though like any light-colored finish it will show carbon and handling marks more readily than black.

Can I swap out the barrel or change calibers on the Vector CRB Gen II?

The Vector Gen II platform does support caliber interchangeability through modular lower receivers, which can be swapped using tool-free pushout pins. However, the 16-inch barrel on the CRB is part of the serialized lower receiver and isn't a simple user-swap component. If you want to run a different caliber, KRISS offers complete lower receivers in other chamberings like 9mm and 10mm, each of which will require its own transfer paperwork since the lower is the regulated part.

What optics work well on the KRISS Vector CRB?

The full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny top rail gives you plenty of room to mount red dots, holographic sights, or low-power variable optics. One thing worth knowing is that the Vector has a taller height-over-bore than many other carbines due to the placement of the rail, so a lower-profile optic mount tends to work better for close-range shooting. Red dots and 1x holographics are the most popular choices for this style of carbine.
