A hot suppressor will burn your hand, melt your gear, and throw enough mirage over your optic to ruin a good group. YHM's 6.875 inch suppressor cover takes care of all three problems in one shot. It is sized to fit the YHM Resonator and Resonator R2, and it may work on other cans with similar length and diameter if you want to double check your measurements before ordering.
This is not a single sleeve of nylon pretending to be heat protection. The base layer against the suppressor body is flash rated to 3000 degrees F, the middle layer is rated to 1800 degrees F, and the whole thing is stitched with fire resistant thread so the seams do not give up before the fabric does. The outer shell is 1000 denier Cordura, the same rugged stuff you find on quality packs and duty gear. It is water resistant and shrugs off abrasion, fading, rot, and mildew, so it will not look tired after a season of range trips and hunts.
Plenty of covers fit fine on day one, then start creeping down the tube after a few hundred rounds. YHM went with a locking strap retention system that cinches the cover onto the can and keeps it there. No walking, no rotating, no glancing up mid string to find your cover drooping over the muzzle. Once it is set, you can forget about it and stay on the glass.
Beyond saving your knuckles during barrel swaps and case-ups, a cover cuts down the heat mirage that boils off a hot can and blurs your reticle. It also protects the suppressor's Cerakote or finish from dings and scratches, and the black Cordura keeps the whole setup low profile. For what it costs compared to the can it protects, it is one of the easier calls you will make on accessories.
It is sized for the YHM Resonator and Resonator R2 sound suppressors. It can also work on other brands with a similar tube diameter and length, so measure your can before ordering. If you run a YHM Turbo or one of the shorter K cans, YHM makes covers in other lengths that will fit those better.
