The Yankee Hill Machine MR7 15-inch M-LOK handguard is one of the lightest free-float forends YHM has ever put out, and it manages that without giving up any mounting space. At roughly 16.4 ounces, this 15-inch rail keeps your AR-15 build slim and balanced while still leaving room for a light, bipod, sling mount, or hand stop pretty much anywhere you want it. If you run a longer barrel or a suppressor tucked up under the rail, the extra length gives you clean coverage and a comfortable place to grip.
The standout feature here is the M-LOK slotting at every 45-degree position along the entire length. That means you're not locked into the standard 3, 6, and 9 o'clock spots. You can index accessories exactly where your hands and gear want them, which makes dialing in a setup a lot less frustrating. Up top you get a continuous T-marked extended Picatinny rail, so mounting front sights, optics, or lasers lines up predictably and stays true to your receiver.
The MR7 is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with a matte black hardcoat anodize done to military spec or better. As a free-float design, the handguard doesn't touch the barrel, which lets the barrel do its thing without pressure points affecting your groups. Yes. The MR7 ships with the barrel nut, jam nut, anti-rotation screws, and instructions, so you have the core hardware to mount it. YHM does recommend picking up their forearm wrench (YHM-9621) separately to avoid scratching your upper or the rail during torque-down. It's a free-float system, so it replaces your factory barrel nut.
The 15-inch length gives you generous room to run a suppressor tucked up inside the rail on the right barrel setup. Builders have reported it works well over suppressor-ready uppers and even adds a little extra heat shielding. Just confirm your can's outer diameter and your barrel length line up with the rail's inner clearance before ordering.
