Yankee Hill Machine built the sRx line around two ideas: keep it clean looking and make it dead simple to use. The sRx Short Flash Hider in 5/8"-32 delivers on both. It is a compact quick-detach muzzle device machined from 4140 steel with a black phosphate finish, and it turns any HUB compatible suppressor into a fast, hand-tight QD setup once you pair it with the YHM sRx Adapter (YHM-4400, sold separately). That adapter threads onto the industry standard 1-3/8" x 24 HUB pattern, so you are not locked into YHM cans. Plenty of suppressors on the market will play nice with this mount.
The smart part of this flash hider is the internal taper seal sitting in front of the mounting threads. When you spin your suppressor on, that taper does the heavy lifting: it centers the can, locks it up tight, and seals off the interface so gas and carbon never reach the threads. No fouled threads means no fighting a stuck suppressor at the end of a range day. There are no springs, detents, or moving parts to wear out, and the device does not require timing or shims, so installation is about as painless as it gets. Just thread it on and go shoot.
At roughly 1.8 inches long with a .75 inch diameter, the Short version adds very little length or weight to your rifle, which matters if you are already hanging a can off the muzzle. Despite the trim size, you still get real flash reduction when running unsuppressed and the full quick-attach convenience of the sRx system when the can goes on.
The 5/8"-32 thread pitch covers a specific slice of .30 caliber barrels, so double check your muzzle threads before ordering. YHM also offers this device in 5/8×24 and 11/16×24 if your barrel calls for something different. If you run a HUB suppressor and want a sleek mount without the bulk of a full-size QD device, this little unit earns its spot on the barrel.
Yes, you need the YHM sRx Adapter (YHM-4400), which is sold separately. The adapter threads onto your suppressor's 1-3/8" x 24 HUB mount and is what actually engages the flash hider's taper and threads. Without it, this device works only as a standard flash hider.
It will, as long as your suppressor accepts the industry standard 1.375×24 HUB thread pattern. The sRx Adapter installs into any HUB compatible can, so you are not limited to YHM suppressors. Just confirm your can is HUB pattern before ordering.
No. The design has no ports that need clocking, so there is no timing, shimming, or crush washer fuss involved. Thread it onto your 5/8"-32 muzzle, torque it down, and you are done.
The internal taper sits ahead of the mounting threads, so when the suppressor tightens down, the taper forms the seal and blocks gas from reaching the threads. That keeps carbon from baking onto the interface, which is what usually makes QD mounts seize up. The result is a lockup that stays repeatable and comes off by hand even after long range sessions.
