Description

The XS R3D 2.0 suppressor height night sights bring a serious visibility upgrade to your large-frame Glock. This set fits the Glock 20, 21, 29, 30, 30S, 37, and 41, and the taller profile is built to clear a suppressor or serve as backup irons that co-witness with a mounted optic. The front sight pairs a Swiss-made tritium lamp with XS's orange photoluminescent Glow Dot, so it charges off ambient light during the day and stays lit in the dark. Out back you get a serrated, blacked-out rear with two tritium lamps and black PVC rings that sharpen the dots and cut glare, keeping your eye where it belongs: on the front post and the target downrange.

What Sets the R3D 2.0 Apart

The 0.170-inch wide rear notch leaves plenty of daylight on either side of the 0.145-inch front blade, which makes indexing the front sight quicker and cleaner in a hurry. That extra room around the post is a real advantage in low light or on the move. The rear also carries a ledge you can hook on a belt or holster for one-handed slide manipulations if your support hand is ever out of commission.

Built for Everyday Carry

These are CNC machined from steel bar stock in Fort Worth, Texas, and finished in BlackNitride, which XS rates at roughly 50% better corrosion resistance than black oxide. That matters if your carry gun rides through sweaty summers and humid weather. The tritium carries a 12-year service life, so you're set for the long haul.

Installing the R3D 2.0

One of the biggest changes in the 2.0 design is the lead-in edge and crush zone on the underside of the rear sight, which cuts the force needed to seat the set by about half. That makes this a friendlier job for anyone running a sight pusher at home, though a hammer and punch will still get it done if that's what you've got. Once they're wedged into the dovetail, the opposing spring tension keeps them locked in through recoil and drops.
