The R3D 2.0 is XS Sights' second-generation night sight set, and it fixes the two things people always wanted from a carry sight: more front-sight brightness and a much easier install. This orange set is cut for the Smith & Wesson M&P and M&P 2.0 optics-ready full-size and compact pistols in a suppressor-height profile, meaning the sights sit tall enough to run over a threaded barrel or serve as backup irons behind many red dots. Just measure your slide, plate, and optic first, since not every setup will co-witness.
The whole design pushes your focus downrange. Up front you get a wide 0.145-inch Glow Dot in high-contrast orange, built around a Swiss-made tritium vial. During the day the photoluminescent dot soaks up ambient light and pops against the target; when the sun drops, the tritium takes over and glows on its own with no charging needed. The blacked-out, serrated rear cuts glare and keeps your eye from getting distracted, while black PVC rings around the rear tritium lamps sharpen the sight picture so the front dot never gets lost in the mix.
These are CNC-machined from solid steel bar stock at the XS shop in Fort Worth, Texas, then finished in Black Nitride for corrosion and wear resistance. That combination holds up to holster wear, sweat, and years of daily carry without looking beat. The rear also carries a cocking ledge on the leading edge, so you can rack the slide one-handed off a belt, holster, or hard surface if you ever need to.
XS redesigned the dovetail geometry with a lead-in edge and crush zone that cuts installation force by roughly 50 percent, letting the sight slide more than a third of the way into the dovetail before it makes full contact. You can set them with a proper sight pusher or a hammer and punch, which puts a home install within reach for a lot of folks. The tritium is backed by a 12-year illumination warranty.

You'll want to measure your sights, optic plate, and red dot together to confirm compatibility. Optic height and mounting depth vary a lot from one system to the next.

The front and rear tritium lamps are self-luminous and glow in low or no light without any charging. XS backs the tritium with a 12-year illumination warranty. The tritium will naturally dim over its lifespan, which is normal for any tritium sight.
