The Desert Eagle is a legendary hand cannon, but the stock black sights leave a lot on the table once the light drops. XS built the R3D 2.0 set specifically for the .44 Magnum and .50 AE Desert Eagle to fix exactly that. This is a notch-and-post setup with a high-contrast green Glow Dot up front and two green tritium dots in the rear, so you get a clean, repeatable sight picture whether you're at the range at noon or clearing a dark hallway.
The front sight is the star here. It runs a wide 0.145-inch post with a proprietary photoluminescent Glow Dot that soaks up ambient light and rings a self-luminous tritium vial. That combo makes the front dot noticeably brighter than the rear tritium, which is exactly what you want since your eye should land on the front sight first. The tritium glows for roughly 12 years with no batteries and no switches to worry about. The rear features a serrated, anti-glare face and smaller tritium dots that guide your eye forward instead of competing with it.
These sights are CNC machined from solid steel bar stock and wear a BlackNitride finish that offers around double the corrosion resistance of traditional black oxide. That matters on a heavy recoiling gun like the Desert Eagle and in humid or sweaty conditions where lesser finishes start to fade. Once seated in the dovetail, the steel stays put through recoil and knocks.
The kit ships ready to go with everything you need to make the swap. XS reworked the dovetail with EasyPress geometry to cut down the force needed for a clean install. Most folks can handle it at home with a sight pusher or a punch and a little patience, though the Desert Eagle's slide finish scratches easily, so take your time or hand it to a gunsmith if you'd rather not risk it. Standard height keeps your point of aim consistent with the factory setup.

No batteries and no charging required. The tritium vials are self-luminous and glow on their own in low or no light for around 12 years. The green Glow Dot ring around the front tritium also absorbs ambient light to glow brighter when you need it.
The kit comes with the screw, threadlocker, and hex wrench you need, and XS reworked the dovetail with EasyPress geometry to reduce install force. Plenty of owners handle it at home with a sight pusher or a punch. That said, the Desert Eagle slide scratches easily, so if you're not comfortable with the process a gunsmith is a safe bet.
The front Glow Dot is intentionally brighter than the two rear tritium dots. That draws your eye to the front sight first, which is how you want your focus during a shot. The serrated, anti-glare rear face keeps it from washing out in bright light.
