The XS R3D 2.0 is the second-generation upgrade to XS Sights' popular notch-and-post night sight, purpose-cut for the Canik TP9 SF. It runs self-luminous tritium lamps in both the front and rear, so you always have a reference in low or no light. What sets the front apart is the 0.145-inch post wrapped in a photoluminescent green Glow Dot around the tritium vial. That Glow Dot soaks up ambient light and glows on its own, giving you a front sight that pops in daylight and stays visible in the dark.
The whole system is tuned to keep your focus where it belongs. The front sight glows brighter than the rear on purpose, using slightly larger, brighter tritium up front while the two rear dots stay dialed back so they never outshine it. The rear also gets a 0.170-inch wide U-notch with a serrated, blacked-out face. That wider notch leaves more daylight around the front post for faster alignment, and the serrations cut glare in bright conditions.
These are CNC-machined from solid steel bar stock, then given a Black Nitride finish that offers noticeably better corrosion resistance than the old black oxide treatment. That matters if you carry in humid weather or sweat through a summer. The set is engineered to take years of drawing, shooting, and general abuse without walking loose in the dovetail.
XS built its EasyPress feature into the dovetail, pairing a lead-in edge with a crush zone so installation takes up to 50 percent less force than the original R3D. No filing, no fighting with a punch. You can press them in with a standard sight pusher, and XS backs the tritium with a 12-year illumination warranty. Fits the TP9 SF, SFX, SF Elite, and SC, though it is not made for the SFx Rival series.
Yes, this set is cut specifically for the Canik TP9 SF and also fits the SFX, SF Elite, and SC. Just keep in mind it is not designed for the SFx Rival series. If you are unsure which Canik you have, check the slide markings before ordering.
