It carries hot gas back from the gas block to the bolt carrier on every shot, so it lives in a rough neighborhood of heat and fouling. This mid-length version measures 11 3/4 inches and drops right into any AR-15 upper set up for a mid-length gas system, which is a popular layout on 16-inch and longer barrels for its smoother, softer recoil impulse.
WMD starts with mil-spec 304 stainless steel and runs it through a salt bath nitrocarburizing process they call Nitromet.
