There is no shortage of 9mm AR pistols on the market, but most of them come from shops that assemble parts. WMD Guns comes at it from a different angle. This is a company built on metallurgy, with chemists, plating engineers, and gunsmiths all working under the same roof. Their proprietary NiB-X nickel boron finish is the star of the show here, measuring around 40 percent harder than chrome while staying naturally slick. That means less friction on moving parts, serious resistance to moisture and corrosion, and carbon that wipes off instead of baking on. Some folks call these finishes close to self cleaning, and after a long range day you will see why.
The 10.5 inch match grade chrome moly vanadium barrel gets a Nitromet QPQ salt bath nitride treatment inside and out for extended life and consistent accuracy, and it wears a NiB-X coated stainless steel compensator up front to keep the muzzle settled. The action is direct blowback, the simple and proven route for 9mm AR platforms, paired with a NiB-X coated bolt carrier group that keeps cycling smooth even when you are burning through bulk ammo. WMD's two stage trigger gives you a clean break that feels a step above the mil spec units most factory guns ship with.
Magazine compatibility makes or breaks a pistol caliber AR, and this one takes Glock pattern mags without any adapter, shipping with a 33 rounder in the box. If you already run a Glock, your existing mag stash works here too. Up top, the flat rail comes optics ready so you can mount a red dot exactly where you want it, and the free floating aluminum M-LOK handguard gives you room for a light, hand stop, or whatever else your setup calls for.
The silver NiB-X exterior is not just for looks, though this thing definitely turns heads at the range. It is a working finish on a fully American made pistol, built for high round counts, quick cleanups, and years of reliable service.
Yes, and no adapter is required. The lower is built to feed directly from Glock pattern 9mm double stack magazines, and it ships with a 33 round mag in the box. Standard Glock 17 and 19 style mags, along with quality aftermarket versions, will run in it as well.
NiB-X is WMD's proprietary nickel boron coating, developed by their in-house plating engineers and applied to the receivers, handguard, bolt carrier group, and other key parts. It measures roughly 40 percent harder than chrome and is naturally slick, so it resists wear, corrosion, and carbon buildup. In practice that means smoother cycling and much faster cleanups, since fouling tends to wipe right off.
Like most 9mm AR platforms, it runs on a direct blowback system rather than direct impingement. Blowback is simple and well proven with pistol calibers, with fewer parts to fuss over and strong reliability across a wide range of 9mm ammo. The NiB-X coated bolt carrier group helps keep the action running smooth even at high round counts.
It ships optics ready with no iron sights installed. The flat top rail accepts red dots, holographic sights, or backup irons, so you can set it up however you like. A compact red dot is the most popular choice on pistol caliber ARs like this one.
