A high-profile receiver measures roughly .210 inch thick from the top rail to the charging handle cut, while a low-profile one measures about .125 inch. It will thread onto a low-profile receiver, but the top rail height won't match up, so measure yours before ordering.
You'll want a 1.375-inch crowfoot wrench to torque the barrel nut down properly, along with a torque wrench. The barrel nut uses a shim-and-timing system with several settings to make sure it clocks correctly. If it doesn't time right on the first pass, you flip the nut or add the supplied shim and try again.
