The Wilson Combat #1 Match Trigger has been around for nearly half a century, and there's a good reason it's still their best-selling 1911 trigger. It pairs a lightweight, skeletonized three-hole serrated aluminum pad with a blued steel bow, finished in a low-luster matte silver that looks right at home in just about any 1911. The long pad puts your finger a touch farther forward, which a lot of shooters prefer for leverage and feel.
The big selling point here is a clean, crisp trigger pull without the bulk of a heavy factory trigger. Because the aluminum pad is so much lighter than typical steel triggers, it reduces the risk of trigger bounce, the kind of thing that can cause hammer follow and chew up your hammer and sear surfaces over time. The drilled-and-tapped over-travel screw lets you fine-tune backlash so the trigger stops right after the hammer drops, which tightens up your reset and helps with accuracy. Just remember to put a dab of thread locker on that screw, because under recoil it will eventually walk out of adjustment if you don't.
This is the no-fitting-required, budget-friendly cousin to the Ultralight Match. It's designed to drop into most current-production full-size and Commander 1911s with little or no fitting. That said, real-world install experience varies by frame. Plenty of folks report it dropping right into Springfield Mil-Spec, Colt, Remington R1, and clone guns with maybe 15 to 20 minutes of light polishing on the pad edges and frame track. Some older or looser-tolerance frames can show a little vertical play, so it's smart to dry-fit before you commit and polish the trigger track clean of any burrs.
It's a great pick for competition shooters, range guys, and anyone refreshing a tired factory trigger. If you're not comfortable working inside your pistol, have a qualified gunsmith handle the install and final adjustment. Inside the box you get the trigger, a 6-32 x 5/16" set screw, and a 1/16" Allen wrench, so you've got what you need to set over-travel out of the gate.

The #1 is the more budget-friendly option and still delivers that crisp, lightweight Wilson trigger feel.
The pad is drilled and tapped for the included set screw, which you turn in until the pistol won't fire, then back off at least a full turn so it functions safely. This stops the trigger right after the hammer drops for minimal backlash and a cleaner reset. Be sure to apply thread locker, because under recoil the screw can work itself loose over time.
This is a long-pad trigger intended for full-size Government and Commander-length frames. Officer and CCO size 1911s use a shorter trigger and need a different length entirely. Match the trigger length to your frame size before ordering.
