The Wilson Combat AR-10 Bolt Carrier Assembly is the same complete BCG the company uses as the foundation of their own custom-built rifles, manufactured by a domestic mil-spec contractor exclusively for Wilson Combat. It's a DPMS-pattern group built for .308 Winchester and 7.62 NATO, and it drops right into any quality .308 case-head AR platform with forward assist cuts.
The nickel boron plating is the part you'll notice first. It gives the whole assembly that bright, slick look, but the real benefit is how it behaves once you start shooting. The coating cuts down on friction for smoother cycling, sheds carbon so cleanup goes fast, and adds a layer of corrosion protection that plain phosphate just can't match.
The bolt itself is precision machined from aerospace-grade 9310 tool steel, then shot-peened for added strength. It gets Magnetic Particle Inspected and randomly batch High Pressure Tested, which is the kind of quality control you want in a bolt that's soaking up the pressure of hot .308 loads. The extractor is S7 tool steel and the ejector is hardened steel, so the parts that do the hard work of pulling and kicking brass are built to hold up round after round.
The carrier is hardened 8620 steel, machined smooth with forward assist cuts, and the gas key is properly staked using grade 8 fasteners so it won't work loose and start leaking gas down the road. Because it's a full .308-case-head design, it pairs well with the wider family of chamberings built on that case, including 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, .260 Remington, and others. Whether you're building fresh or replacing a tired BCG, this is a foundation you can trust to run.
It's built to the DPMS/LR-308 pattern, so it drops into any quality .308 case-head AR that uses a DPMS-compatible bolt and has forward assist cuts. It ships as a complete assembly ready to run right out of the box. If your rifle is a true DPMS-pattern .308, you're good to go.
Because it's a full .308 case-head design, it handles the family of cartridges built on that case. That includes 7.62 NATO, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester, and .260 Remington among others. As long as your barrel and chamber share the .308 case head, this BCG is a match.
Nickel boron gives you a slicker surface that reduces friction for smoother cycling and easier follow-up shots. It also makes cleanup quick since carbon wipes off instead of baking on, and it adds corrosion resistance. The bright finish is a bonus if you like being able to see the wear points at a glance.
