The Wilson Combat Ultralight Skeleton Hammer is built for exactly that kind of refinement. It's fully CNC machined from solid stainless steel bar stock and heat treated to a hardness of R/C 48-52, so it holds its edges and keeps that clean, consistent break shot after shot.
The big draw here is the skeletonized spur. Cutting weight out of the hammer lets it travel faster, which reduces lock time, the split second between the sear releasing and the hammer striking the firing pin. Less lock time means less chance for your sight picture to drift before the round goes off, and shooters who've made the swap consistently report noticeably tighter groups. Worth being clear about one thing: skeletonizing speeds up the hammer, but it does not lighten your trigger pull on its own. The hammer hooks are cut to .020 inches with an 8 RMS ground finish for a smooth, predictable sear engagement, and the half-cock notch is narrowed to help protect the sear nose from damage.
