The Wiley X Guard Advanced 4006 is built for folks who don't want to own three separate pairs of glasses to cover every lighting condition. It ships with Smoke Grey, Clear, and Light Rust lenses that pop in and out in seconds, so you can go from a bright outdoor bay to a dim indoor lane without missing a beat. The frame carries a Matte Black finish with a half-frame, semi-rimless look that keeps things low profile while the oversized lenses still deliver serious coverage.
Each tint has a job. The Smoke Grey lens knocks down glare on bright days and cuts light transmission down to around 15% without messing with color, the Light Rust lens sits in the middle at roughly 53% transmission to sharpen contrast in medium to low light, and the Clear lens runs about 90% transmission for night, indoor, overcast, and low-light shooting. All three are Selenite polycarbonate with a T-Shell coating that fights off scratches, plus full UVA and UVB blocking.
Protection is where the Guard Advanced earns its keep. The lenses meet MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic standards along with ANSI Z87.1 high-velocity and high-mass impact ratings, so these hold up to flying brass, debris, and the occasional ricochet better than everyday shades. The curved lens hugs close to your face for peripheral coverage, and a removable air-permeable brow bar doubles as a built-in sweatband while keeping dust out.
The frame is sized for medium to large heads and rides comfortably thanks to rubberized temple tips that grip without pinching. It's a versatile pick that crosses over easily into hunting, fishing, cycling, and everyday wear, not just range time. If you want one do-it-all setup that adapts to whatever the light throws at you, this is a strong choice.
Yes, the lenses are designed to pop in and out quickly without tools. You can go from the Smoke Grey lens on a bright day to the Clear lens for an indoor lane in a matter of seconds. That swap-friendly design is the whole point of the Changeable series.
They do. The Selenite polycarbonate lenses meet MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic standards plus ANSI Z87.1 high-velocity and high-mass impact ratings. That means they're rated to handle flying debris and brass on the firing line, not just sun protection.
This frame is sized for medium to large heads. The rubberized temple tips help lock them in place, and the included elastic strap adds extra security for active use. Folks with smaller faces may find them a touch roomy.
Absolutely. The interchangeable lens system and full UV protection make these a solid crossover pick for hunting, fishing, cycling, and everyday wear. The Light Rust lens is especially handy for boosting contrast in flat or overcast light.
