The Wiley X 308 Saber Advanced is the kind of eye protection that earns its keep whether you're behind the trigger, running a chainsaw, or logging a full shift outdoors. It's part of Wiley X's Changeable Series, and the whole idea here is adaptability: three interchangeable Selenite polycarbonate lenses that let you dial in your vision for whatever the light is doing. Smoke grey handles bright sun, clear covers indoor ranges and dim conditions, and the light rust lens brings out contrast in flat, overcast light. That rust tint tends to become the everyday favorite once folks try it.
Protection is where this frame really made Wiley X a household name in ballistic eyewear. The lenses meet MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic standards along with ANSI Z87.1+ high-velocity and high-mass impact requirements, plus 100% UVA/UVB protection so your eyes stay shielded from the sun as well as flying debris. A T-Shell coating helps the lenses shrug off scratches in rough environments, and the shatterproof build is genuinely tough.
Comfort was clearly the priority in this update. The frame is lightweight with an adjustable take-flight nose piece that adapts to just about any nose bridge, and a foam brow insert keeps sweat and grit out of your line of sight. The telescoping temple arms adjust for length, sit low enough to run under ear pro without a fight, and are night-vision goggle compatible for anyone who needs that.
When the wind kicks up dust or you want a tighter seal, the included strap converts the Saber Advanced from glasses into a goggle in seconds. Everything stores in the zippered case between uses. It's a versatile setup that shooters, hunters, and folks doing yard work all reach for, and if you wear prescription lenses, the frame is compatible with Wiley X's PTX prescription insert sold separately.
The Changeable Series is built around quick lens swaps, so you can move between the smoke grey, clear, and light rust lenses without tools. Give the lens a gentle flex out of the frame and snap the next one in. It takes a little practice the first time or two, then becomes second nature between light conditions.
Yes. The Selenite polycarbonate lenses meet MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic standards along with ANSI Z87.1+ high-velocity and high-mass impact requirements. This is the same platform that helped build Wiley X's reputation with the military, so it's serious impact protection rather than a marketing label.
You can. The kit includes an adjustable strap that replaces the temple arms and converts the glasses into a sealed goggle setup. That's handy when wind and dust pick up, or when you want a tighter fit under a helmet or during hard-charging activity.
The Saber Advanced frame is compatible with Wiley X's PTX prescription insert, which is sold separately. The insert mounts behind the main lens so you keep the full ballistic protection while getting your prescription. If you need something turnkey, Wiley X also offers dedicated RX versions of this frame.
