The White Label Armory WLA-BRL-4007 is an extended take on the classic A2 birdcage flash hider, cut for 1/2×28 threads and ready to run on 5.56 and smaller bores. If you've spent any time around AR-15s, the A2 shape needs no introduction. It's the muzzle device that's been quieting flash and steadying muzzle rise on the platform for decades. WLA's version keeps everything folks like about the original design while adding a little extra length that opens up some useful options.
The extra reach here is the whole point. This flash hider adds about 1.75 inches of length to the barrel once it's pinned and welded with a crush washer, which makes it a go-to choice for turning a 14.5" barrel into a permanently attached 16" setup. The birdcage ports are biased to vent gas upward and to the sides, cutting down on visible flash in low light while helping keep the muzzle from climbing during strings of fire. The bottom is closed off, so shooting from the prone kicks up far less dust and debris than an open cage would.
WLA machines this one in-house from 4140 bar stock and finishes it with their Blacknitride+ treatment, which gives it real corrosion resistance and a hard, slick surface that shrugs off carbon buildup. That combination puts it a step above a lot of plain phosphate mil-spec cages you'll run across. The 1/2×28 threading is the standard pattern for 5.56 and .223 barrels, so it drops right onto most AR-15 muzzles.
Installation is straightforward with the right tools. Thread on a crush washer with the cupped face toward the muzzle, hand-tighten the flash hider, then time it with a barrel wrench so the solid section faces the ground. For a 14.5" build, this is where the pin-and-weld route comes in to lock it permanently in place. Either way, it's a clean, proven muzzle device that does its job without any fuss.
