Description

Weight is the tax you pay on every backcountry hunt, and the Mark V Backcountry Guide Ti was built to lower it. This 7mm Backcountry model pairs Weatherby's titanium Mark V action with a fluted BSF carbon fiber barrel, bringing the whole rifle in around 5.8 pounds before glass. The Guide series runs a shorter barrel than the standard Backcountry rifles on purpose. It swings easier in timber, packs better on a horse or a frame pack, and keeps the overall length manageable when you thread on a suppressor.

Why the Guide Ti Earns Its Spot in the Truck

The barrel itself deserves a closer look. BSF starts with a 416R stainless match blank, then sleeves it in carbon fiber under tension rather than wrapping it. Most of the carbon never touches the steel, which creates air gaps that help the barrel shed heat instead of trapping it. The result is a stiff, quick-cooling barrel with a 1:8 twist that handles the heavy, high-BC bullets the 7mm Backcountry cartridge was designed around. Out front, a machined titanium Accubrake ST takes real bite out of recoil, and the 3DHex recoil pad soaks up what's left. A TriggerTech trigger lets you dial the pull weight to your liking, and the two-position safety keeps operation simple with gloves on.

Peak 44 Blacktooth Stock with Spartan Adapters Built In

The fixed Peak 44 Blacktooth stock is one of the lightest production carbon fiber stocks out there, finished in exposed carbon with hand-applied carbide black sponge accents, so no two look quite the same. Weatherby installs Spartan Precision gunsmithing adapters at the factory, meaning you can snap on a Spartan bipod or tripod without adding hardware or weight you don't need.

A 7mm Backcountry Rifle for Serious Mountain Country

With a 3+1 capacity, a drilled and tapped titanium receiver, and Graphite Black Cerakote protecting the metalwork, this rifle is set up for hard seasons in wet, steep country. Add a lightweight scope and you have a genuine do-it-all mountain rig for elk, mule deer, sheep, and anything else that lives where the trails end.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 7mm Backcountry cartridge and why choose it in the Guide Ti?

The 7mm Backcountry is a newer high-pressure cartridge designed to deliver magnum-level velocities out of shorter barrels. That makes it a natural match for the Guide Ti, since the shorter carbon fiber barrel still produces the speed and energy you need for elk and mule deer at longer ranges without dragging extra weight up the mountain.

Is the Weatherby Backcountry Guide Ti suppressor ready?

Yes. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 and ships with the removable Accubrake ST installed, so you can spin the brake off and thread on a suppressor. The shorter Guide-length barrel was chosen partly for this reason, keeping the rifle balanced and maneuverable with a can attached.

How much does the Guide Ti weigh once it's ready to hunt?

This 7mm BC model runs about 5.8 pounds bare. With a lightweight scope, rings, sling, and a loaded magazine, most setups land in the 7 to 8 pound range, which is still noticeably lighter than a typical bolt gun before adding any glass. The factory-installed Spartan adapters let you add a bipod without much of a weight penalty either.

What are the Spartan Precision adapters on the stock for?

Weatherby installs Spartan gunsmithing adapters into the Peak 44 Blacktooth stock at the factory. They use a magnetic quick-detach system that lets you attach Spartan's ultralight bipods and tripod mounts in seconds, then pull them off just as fast when you're on the move. It saves you the cost and hassle of an aftermarket install.
