The whole package weighs 5.6 pounds bare, which you will appreciate somewhere around the third ridge of a backcountry mule deer hunt. The 22-inch BSF carbon fiber barrel keeps weight out front to a minimum, sheds heat quickly, and comes threaded 5/8-24 with Weatherby's Accubrake ST installed, so it plays nice with suppressors too. The Blacktooth from Peak 44 is one of the lightest production carbon fiber stocks you can get, finished here in a green and tan sponge pattern with a carbon bedding block underneath. Yes, this is a dedicated left-hand configuration of the Mark V action, not a right-handed gun with workarounds. The bolt handle and port are on the left side, so lefties get the same smooth 54-degree bolt throw and fast cycling that righties have enjoyed on the Mark V for decades.
The 6.5 Weatherby RPM (Rebated Precision Magnum) was designed specifically for the slim six-lug Mark V action. It pushes the same high-BC 6.5mm bullets noticeably faster than a 6.5 Creedmoor, which means a flatter trajectory and more retained energy at distance. It is a great fit for deer, antelope, and even elk at reasonable ranges, and the 1:8 twist handles heavy bullets well.
You sure can. The barrel is threaded 5/8-24, so once you remove the included Accubrake ST, most common suppressors thread right on. The shorter 22-inch carbon barrel is one of the reasons Weatherby built the Guide series this way, since it keeps overall length manageable with a can attached.
