The 22 inch fluted barrel keeps the package handy for hunting rigs, and the threaded muzzle means you can spin on a brake or suppressor without a trip to the gunsmith. Barrel, receiver, bolt, and bolt knob all wear Graphite Black Cerakote, so weather is not going to win any arguments with this rifle.
The 307 is a two-lug, fully cylindrical action built to accept 700-pattern stocks, triggers, rails, and bottom metal, which makes it the most open platform Weatherby has ever offered. The three-piece bolt breaks down without tools and runs an M16-style extractor for positive extraction round after round. From the factory you get an externally adjustable TriggerTech Field trigger with a crisp, zero-creep break, Magpul bottom metal, and a five-round magazine, with the 7mm PRC shipping with a metal MDT mag. A Peak 44 Picatinny rail comes on top so you can mount glass right out of the box, and the Peak 44 Arca and pic rail forend adapter handles bipods and tripod heads without extra hardware.
The hydrodipped HUSH Tundra camo synthetic stock is more than a good-looking dip job. The vertical grip design includes an adjustable cheekpiece and adjustable length of pull, so you can set it up for your frame and your scope height instead of adapting to the rifle. Textured touch points keep your grip locked in with cold or wet hands. At 7.4 pounds bare, it carries well for a rifle this capable, and every Model 307 is backed by Weatherby's sub-MOA guarantee with factory or premium ammo. The TriggerTech Field trigger helps you get there with a zero-creep break that adjusts externally. Like most precision rifles, expect groups to tighten up after a proper barrel break-in.
The 7mm PRC chambering ships with a metal MDT magazine holding five rounds, seated in Magpul bottom metal. Since the bottom metal follows the common 700 footprint, finding spare magazines is easy.
