Description

Weatherby built the Model 307 to be their most open platform yet, and the Alpine ST shows what that action can do when the goal is a serious mountain rifle. The two-lug, fully cylindrical receiver shares its footprint with the Rem 700 pattern, so it plays nice with a huge range of aftermarket triggers, rails, and mounts if you ever want to tinker down the road. Out of the box you will not need to, though. It ships with an externally adjustable TriggerTech trigger that breaks clean with basically zero creep, and every 307 carries Weatherby's sub-MOA guarantee with quality factory ammunition. These rifles are built at Weatherby's home in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Why the Alpine ST Carries So Easy

The Peak 44 Bastion stock is the headline here. At just 24 ounces, it is among the lightest vertical grip carbon fiber stocks in production, with an ambidextrous palm swell, a deep thumb groove, and a 3D-Hex recoil pad that takes the sting out of shooting a featherweight rifle. The 22 inch steel barrel is spiral fluted to trim weight, stiffen things up, and shed heat faster, and the whole package lands around 6.2 pounds. Metalwork wears Graphite Black Cerakote, and the exposed carbon fiber gets a grey and gold sponge accent pattern that looks sharp without shouting.

25 Creedmoor in a 307 Alpine ST

This chambering is a smart match for the platform. The 1:7.5 twist stabilizes the long, high-BC quarter-bore bullets that make 25 Creedmoor such a flat-shooting, soft-recoiling option for deer, antelope, and long days behind steel. The muzzle is threaded, and the included Accubrake ST tames what little recoil is left. Pull the brake and hang a suppressor if that is more your style.

Alpine ST Details Worth Knowing

Capacity is 4+1, the receiver is drilled and tapped for 8-40 screws, the bolt strips down without tools for easy cleaning, and dual sling studs up front leave room for a bipod and a sling at the same time. It is a thoughtful, well-sorted rifle from muzzle to buttpad.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Weatherby 307 Alpine ST guaranteed to shoot sub-MOA?

Yes. Weatherby backs every Model 307 rifle with a sub-MOA guarantee, meaning a 3-shot group of .99 inches or less at 100 yards from a cold barrel when fired with Weatherby factory or premium ammunition. Between the TriggerTech trigger and the rigid spiral fluted barrel, this rifle has the hardware to deliver on that promise.

What is 25 Creedmoor good for as a hunting cartridge?

25 Creedmoor is a modern quarter-bore built around long, high-BC bullets, and the 1:7.5 twist in this Alpine ST is cut specifically to stabilize them. It shoots flat, bucks wind better than older .25 caliber rounds, and recoils gently, which matters a lot in a 6.2 pound rifle. It is a great fit for deer, antelope, and extended-range work on varmints and steel.

Can I run a suppressor on the 307 Alpine ST?

The muzzle is threaded, so you can remove the included Accubrake ST and mount a suppressor or another muzzle device. The 22 inch barrel keeps overall length manageable even with a can attached. Just confirm your suppressor or adapter matches the thread pitch on this chambering before ordering mounts.

Does the Model 307 action accept aftermarket parts?

That is one of its biggest selling points. The 307 is a fully cylindrical two-lug action with a footprint compatible with Rem 700 pattern aftermarket stocks, triggers, rails, and mounts, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for 8-40 screws. The bolt also disassembles without tools, which makes field maintenance simple.
